Chapter: If Mies had been less silent... On the Opaque Corners of the Miesian-American Towers
Date: 2015
Author: Eduardo Delgado Orusco
Publication: Fundación Universitaria San Pablo CEU
Pages: 53-66

The article raises an observation and a practical exercise: the opacity of the Miesian-American towers and possible transformations about the supporting structure of those to release the diagonal from the space and therefore to further develop the concept of open-plan building and its flexibility.

This little manipulation will set on the game board an approximation to the extent, possibilities and consequences that this mutation would have had in the overall structure of the building and based on these results, transcend some considerations regarding Mies´ intentions and design methodology.
